How to Use MSDS Online

On Campus:

  1. Click on the following link to access the MSDS Online search page.
  2. Once you arrive at the search page, type in the product name and manufacturer (optional)
  3. If no MSDSs on this product is in the campus database, MSDS Online will have possible matches by hitting the "click here". If no matches exist, use the request tool in #3.
  4. The user will be able to scroll through the results page(s) and find the exact match of the product to a MSDS.
  5. The user may select that MSDS by clicking on the view link corresponding to the product.
  6. The MSDS may be read on the screen or printed.
  7. If you would like this product added to the campus database, select the box and click "Add to Ebinder".
  8. For a tutorial on the program, click on "First Time User" at the upper right corner of the page.
  9. If you need assistance, call EH&IS at extension 7233.

Off Campus

  1. Go to the campus Portal.
  2. Click the Library tab.
  3. Under Quick Links, click "Find Databases".
  4. Look under Material Safety Datasheets (MSDS Online).
  5. Use the directions above.
